Flock AFO
Privacy policy
Flock AFO is a public camera-information app developed by Jason Grant. It is designed to be useful without an account, a location history, or Flock AFO analytics.
What Flock AFO stores
Flock AFO does not require a user account and does not operate a service for your saved content. Camera bookmarks, app preferences, and downloaded camera data are stored on your device. The app uses protected local storage for saved content and excludes that local store from device backup. You can clear downloaded camera data from Settings. Removing the app removes its local app data according to iOS behavior.
Flock AFO does not collect a location history, accept camera reports, host photo uploads, or run analytics/advertising SDKs.
Location and awareness
With your permission, Flock AFO can use your current location to center the map and to provide foreground Camera Awareness while the app is open. The app compares the current location with already loaded mapped records on your device. It does not save those location fixes as a travel history and does not use background location tracking for awareness.
You can choose whether to grant location permission and can change it in iOS Settings. Location-based results depend on available mapped data and do not establish that a camera is operating or scanning anyone.
Maps, search, route requests, and camera identity
Flock AFO uses Apple MapKit for map display, place search, requested directions, and selected-camera geographic context. When you submit a place search, request directions, or open a selected record that needs geographic context, the relevant search text, route request, or selected camera coordinate is handled by Apple. Flock AFO does not send your current location fix to its camera-data provider. Apple’s privacy policy applies to Apple’s processing.
If you choose Apple Maps handoff, Flock AFO passes the selected public camera coordinate to Apple Maps. That handoff is your action.
Mapped camera data and source records
Flock AFO obtains public, community-mapped camera information through the FlockHopper data feed. Like other network services, the tile host receives your IP address and requested map-tile areas. Requests do not include your precise device location fix. Mapped records may be incomplete, approximate, or out of date. Flock AFO does not own or operate the mapped cameras.
When you choose View Source Record, Flock AFO opens the linked OpenStreetMap source page in a constrained in-app view or your browser. That destination has its own privacy practices. The camera-data feed is offered under the Open Database License.
Subscriptions
Flock AFO uses Apple StoreKit for optional Flock Pro subscriptions. Apple processes purchases, restores, billing, and payment information. Flock AFO does not receive your payment-card details. Subscription status is used on your device to decide whether Pro capabilities are available. You can manage Apple subscriptions through your Apple Account.
Sharing and disclosures
Flock AFO does not sell your personal information or build a cross-app advertising profile. The app does not intentionally send your camera bookmarks, local preferences, or foreground location fixes to Flock AFO-operated servers because it does not operate a service for these features. Apple, the camera-data host, and a source-record site can process the information described above when you choose features that use them.
